Information we collect and store from visitors

We collect information from visitors relating to:

    • Feedback submitted to us, eg: your enquiry for a quote and booking details if you then proceed.
    • Website usage tracking

1.Feedback

We need to store and process your data if you make an enquiry or place an order with us, to allow us to provide our services. This includes your name and contact details. We also need to store your details for tax and insurance reasons. This information will only be used for the purpose intended. You will not receive any subsequent unsolicited communication and your details will never be shared with any third parties unless we are legally required to do so.

2. Site Usage Tracking – Cookies

To make this website simpler, small data files are placed on your computer – these are known as cookies. They improve things by:

      • Remembering settings, so you do not have to keep re-entering them whenever you visit a new page.
      • Measuring how you use the website so we can make sure it meets your needs.

Our cookies are not used to identify you personally. They are just here to make the site work better for you. Indeed, you can manage and/or delete these small files as you wish. To learn more about cookies and how to manage them, visit Aboutcookies.org.

We may use Google Analytics to collect information about how people use this site. We do this to make sure it is meeting users needs and to understand how we could improve both the website and the user experience. Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got here and what you click on. We do not collect or store your personal information (e.g. your name or address) so this information cannot be used to identify who you are.

How long will we keep your data?

We may need to keep your personal details up to 7 years after you were a customer of ours, for tax and insurance purposes.

How can you see what data we store about you?

You have the right to request details on any data we store about you. We can send a copy of your data to the email address you entered when using our services.

Your right to deletion

If you were previously a customer of ours, we might need to hold onto some of your data for tax or insurance reasons. Otherwise we will happily comply with your request as best we can.

Marketing messages?

We do not conduct any marketing campaigns via email, telephone, or post. We will only ever contact you in response to your enquiry and about the service you have booked or are looking to book.

How do you make a complaint about our use of your data?

The Information Commissioners Office (ICO). is the authority for data protection in the UK. If you have an unresolvable problem with us and our use of your data, they are who you should contact.

If you have any queries or questions you can email us via alan@shiners.co.uk or write to us at Alan’s address inserted here.
